EventMAP have always been heavily involved with academic research within the fields of timetabling, scheduling and optimisation.

In fact, it’s where the company originally started within Queen’s University, Belfast and the University of Nottingham. As we’ve grown, we’ve always maintained strong research links with academia – there are huge benefits for our clients and customers in incorporating the latest advances and insights into the development of ever more effective software and consultancy solutions. Currently, EventMAP is proud to sponsor two of world’s leading series of timetabling and scheduling conferences:

The International Series of Conferences on the Practice and Theory of Automated Timetabling (PATAT) is held biennially and serves as a forum for an international community of researchers, practitioners and vendors on all aspects of computer-aided timetable generation. PATAT helps bring real world timetabling problems in front of some of the field’s leading academics and forms a crucial interface between the theory of timetabling and its practice on the ground. The next PATAT conference will take place in Vienna, Austria in 2018. To find out more about PATAT, please visit their website.

The MISTA conference, similarly, serves as a forum for an international community of researchers, practitioners and vendors, but focuses on all aspects of multi-disciplinary scheduling. Its aim is to bring together scheduling researchers and practitioners from all disciplines that engage with scheduling research. MISTA 2017 will take place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia between 5th and 8th December. To find out more about MISTA, please visit their website.
