Another new sale of Timetabler. This time it is as a result of a collaboration between a long-established customer, Lancaster University, and Navitas, a teaching organisation which has pioneered an innovative university partnership model of education since 1994.
Lancaster University partnered with Navitas in January 2020 to welcome Students to their newly established campus in Leipzig, Germany. Lancaster University Leipzig will be offering foundation and Undergraduate programmes. Leipzig based staff are responsible for scheduling all teaching events, exams, attendance monitoring and space management.
Given the challenging timeframes for student admissions, staff required the chosen solution to be a user-friendly system that would allow them to become quickly familiar with its operation. The system also needed to provide access to all required functions in one place. It was important to Lancaster University and Navitas that technical, and user support, be easily accessible by Leipzig based staff. EventMAP’s Timetabler and Exam fulfilled all these requirements delivering everything they needed.
Set up for Leipzig was smooth and quick, ensuring staff were able to complete training and schedules within the required timeframes. Staff training was efficiently undertaken, uptake very successful, and due to the user friendliness of the system, staff feedback was very positive. The ease of implementation and the application’s intuitiveness meant that the training times and costs normally associated with acquiring a new system were significantly reduced.
Timetabler has been implemented at Leipzig for all teaching events. It also includes attendance monitoring features and reporting. The system includes a unique reports dashboard, which each user can personalise. This feature has become extremely useful to staff, and allows them quick visual access to the various data. We have also implemented Co-sign for Lancaster University Leipzig, which was one of the key requirements for the staff and student experience. Implementing Co-sign has reduced the user support required, as staff and students only have one username and password for all systems, therefore reducing the time required for account resets. Our next stage is to implement Optime Exam within the next 3 months. Feedback from Leipzig users has been extremely positive, and we are looking forward to future developments.
