Truly Magical – London Interdisciplinary School use Optime Timetabler to manage their unique timetabling challenges

July 18, 2022

The London Interdisciplinary School is (LIS) is an alternative higher education provider in Whitechapel, London. It was founded in 2017 and is the first new institution since the 1960s to hold full degree-awarding powers in the United Kingdom. LIS offers undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, as well as professional courses.

Because of the complex nature of curriculum delivery at LIS they needed to implement a timetabling solution that would ensure high quality delivery without compromise.

Let us allow Kestral Gaian, Head of Digital at The London Interdisciplinary School explain:

“The London Interdisciplinary School purchased Optime Timetabler to help manage our complex student timetabling needs. With an ethos that places emphasis on students to learn via real-world problem solving, London Interdisciplinary School works with outstanding academics, industry experts, and entrepreneurs who all see the need for a modern approach to further education – equipping students with a critical set of skills to problem-solve in an increasingly interconnected world.

Being a new and innovative university that focusses on an interdisciplinary approach to education, timetabling face-to-face and online sessions for our students is an interesting and unique challenge. Optime Timetabler has helped us to take our vast array of complex data and turn it into an algorithmically generated timetable across all of our cohorts with no room or tutor conflicts. Truly magical!”

We are really pleased to have the London Interdisciplinary School join our family of Optime users. We look forward to working with them in the years to come.
