We’re delighted to announce that we’ll be speaking at the next meeting of the Academic Research Council’s Timetabling Practitioners Group, which takes place in Loughborough University on Friday 23 May.

The lecture, entitled ‘The Science and Art of Timetabling’, will be given by Eventmap’s Managing Director Dr. Barry McCollum and will discuss the role and function of timetabling within modern universities and the art of producing perfectly optimised timetables within the many constraints of modern academia.

The ARC Timetabling Practitioners Group is a forum for higher education timetablers to discuss issues relating to the theory and practice of timetabling, to explore new ideas and developments and to share best practice. The group seeks to identify ways to raise the profile and highlight the importance of timetabling in higher education and to improve understanding among non-timetablers of the demands and complexities of timetabling.
