Atlantic Technological University select Optime Exam to Plan and Manage their Examination Timetables

ATU adopt Optime Exam following integration to their student record system.

November 22, 2022

We are very pleased to welcome ATU as a user of Optime Exam.

Galway and Mayo Institute of Technology is located in the West of Ireland. GMIT, along with Letterkenny IT (LYIT) and IT Sligo, was approved for the designation of Technology University (TU) in 2021, creating Ireland’s newest technological University in April 2022.

Pre-merger, GMIT had embarked on a search for an exam scheduling solution to improve their approach to Examination Timetabling. The Team identified that they required the system to provide a highly flexible exam scheduling environment, allowing for both automated and manual intervention. The solution needed to allow a measure of integration to their student record system (Ellucian Banner). After a competitive tender process GMIT awarded the contract to EventMAP.

In the midst of the launch of the new Atlantic Technological University, our team worked with colleagues from the new organisation to deliver Exam scheduling. Una Quinn at GMIT said: “We are delighted to be working with EventMAP, the team was extremely helpful throughout the whole process.

We look forward to continuing our relationship as ATU develops and grows in coming years. EventMAP’s approach of partnering with clients, helps to ensure that Optime remains relevant to customers’ needs. We are confident we will benefit from association with such a progressive organisation as ATU.
