College of Esports Joins Expanding Optime User Community
College of Esports, select Optime Timetabler to enhance and streamline academic scheduling
EventMAP is pleased to announce that the College of Esports has become the latest institution to join our growing Optime user base.
They are the world’s first academic institution offering an exclusive university-level partnership with the British Esports Federation - the UK’s governing body for esports. The College of Esports utilises impressive facilities, and a prime location, at the Velodrome within the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, London. With strong industry connections, the institution equips students with exceptional academic experiences, offering traditional university degrees, such as International Business, through the lens of their students’ passion. By 2030 their vision is to have created a lasting legacy in London, by establishing themselves as a globally recognised campus for educational partnerships and esports, setting best practice locally, nationally, and internationally.
In support of this vision and to accommodate increased student interest in esports, the institution selected Optime Timetabler to enhance and streamline their academic scheduling processes.
They were originally looking for a student records system (SRS), but learned, being a small organisation, that this was incredibly difficult to find. They remembered from a previous demo of Optime Timetabler that most of what they required from a SRS was actually contained within the application, especially the capacity to record and manage student attendance and the ability to publish student timetables directly to Microsoft Outlook. Additionally, the decision was influenced by Optime’s user-friendly modern web interface, and its fast powerful scheduling engine, which enables the efficient construction and management of scheduling constraints.
Following a short deeply focused implementation period supported by EventMAP, the College of Esports successfully produced timetables for the next academic year and looks forward, over the coming months, to optimise system use and maximise available features and functionality.
