Centro de Educación Clínica Avanzada adopt Optime
CECA is a new state-of-the-art clinical training centre in Santiago, Chile. Developed as part of a long-term clinical education strategy, it represents a major qualitative step forward in the teaching of health sciences in Chile.
CECA is dedicated exclusively to students from health-related programs at institutions affiliated with the Education and Culture Foundation including, Universidad Andrés Bello, Universidad de Las Américas, and AIEP Professional Institute.
Due to its scale, advanced educational technologies, innovative learning methodologies, and high standard of equipment, CECA is projected to become the largest immersive clinical practice centre in Chile and one of the most innovative in Latin America.
Expected to come online in 2027 the CECA building will cover 18,000 m² and have capacity for 1,000 students per day. It will have over 40 specialised training spaces and integrate over 100 educational technologies. The facility has been designed to recreate a hyper-realistic hospital environment, combined with advanced simulation tools and cutting-edge learning equipment.
CECA required a solution that could automatically generate proposals for optimised schedules for academic activities, considering multiple hard constraints and flexible criteria defined by the institutions.
The application should allow the creation of schedules without conflicts, respect the availability of training rooms, equipment, rules sequencing clinical practices, concentration of days, continuous blocks and criteria governing inter-institutional equity.
Optimisation algorithms should prioritise the efficient use of available resources and allow for controlled manual adjustments. The result of this process will be used as an input for the operational administration of CECA.
Following a competitive tender process, EventMAP has been awarded the contract to provide the scheduling and resource management software for CECA. EventMAP’s solution will support the efficient planning and optimisation of clinical spaces, technologies, and learning activities across the centre.
EventMAP looks forward to working closely with the team at CECA and its partner institutions to help optimise the use of this new space by providing students with managed and coordinated access while supporting the delivery of high-quality, immersive clinical education.
This represents a major milestone for EventMAP. We now have customers and users on every inhabited continent.
