PATAT 2026 - EventMAP at the Forefront of Timetabling Research and Innovation

PATAT 2026, the 15th International Conference on the Practice and Theory of Automated Timetabling

August 21, 2026

EventMAP sponsors PATAT 2026 reinforcing our long-term commitment to timetabling research.

EventMAP is proud to be sponsoring PATAT 2026, the 15th International Conference on the Practice and Theory of Automated Timetabling, taking place in Nottingham from 25–28 August 2026.

PATAT is one of the most important events in the international timetabling community, bringing together researchers, practitioners and vendors to explore the latest developments in automated timetabling and computer-aided scheduling.

Organised as part of the EURO Working Group on Automated Timetabling, PATAT provides an important forum for sharing research, exchanging ideas and exploring how advances in optimisation, algorithms and technology can address increasingly complex scheduling challenges.

For EventMAP, supporting PATAT is about more than sponsoring an industry conference. Our relationship with the timetabling research community has been an important part of our development as a technology company.

EventMAP has maintained close links with researchers working in timetabling and optimisation for many years. We have supported PATAT on several occasions, including the 2018, 2022 and 2024 conferences, reflecting our long-standing commitment to the continued development of the field.

This connection between research and practice is particularly important as the challenges facing educational institutions continue to evolve. Timetabling is no longer simply about producing a workable schedule. Institutions are balancing increasingly complex requirements around space, resources, student experience, staff availability, flexibility and institutional priorities.

Research into optimisation and automated timetabling provides new ways of approaching these challenges. At EventMAP, we look to understand and apply these developments within our technology, helping to translate advances in research into practical solutions for universities and other educational institutions.

This two-way relationship is central to how we approach innovation. The research community helps us understand where the field is heading, while our experience of working with institutions provides valuable insight into the practical challenges that technology needs to address.

PATAT also provides an opportunity to look beyond the immediate challenges of today and consider what the future of timetabling and planning could look like. As artificial intelligence, optimisation and data-driven approaches continue to develop, the potential for more intelligent and responsive planning is significant.

EventMAP’s sponsorship of PATAT 2026 reflects our continued commitment to being part of that conversation.

We look forward to joining researchers, practitioners and colleagues from across the international timetabling community in Nottingham, sharing ideas, discussing the latest developments and helping to shape the future of automated timetabling.

We look forward to seeing you at PATAT 2026.
