More new business news this week: the latest UK university to engage with EventMAP is the University of Derby, who we will be working with to undertake fast-track space and resource modelling and planning for Derby Business School, and develop an optimal space profile for their timetabling.

One of the many things that the 2020 pandemic has highlighted within the UK’s university sector is the crucial importance of being able to adapt quickly to change, and having the data available to do this efficiently and effectively. We will be working at the Business School with our new Planner tool, which will let us develop a highly-accurate picture of the school’s future space, resource, and timetabling requirements, using data gathered on site.

The key benefit of this process is, quite simply, that it almost completely removes guesswork from decision-making. Producing a range of ‘what-if’ scenarios for any proposed changes on campus provides impact analysis across cost, resource and quality metrics. It also delivers target-driven planning and modelling that can lead to significant efficiency improvements and cost savings on the ground.

This project will be happening over the next couple of weeks, showing that delivering actionable, accurate planning intelligence no longer involves a long, drawn-out consultancy process. And in the midst of this year’s unprecedented turmoil, we’re sure that this is what universities everywhere will want to hear.#
