University of Oxford selects EventMAP’s Optime to transform exam timetabling
University of Oxford chooses Optime
EventMAP is delighted to announce that the University of Oxford has chosen Optime Exam as its new central exam timetabling solution.
The Student Assessment Team (SAT) at Oxford is responsible for the scheduling and production of timetables for all centrally administered University examinations – including preliminary, end-of-year, final-year, and resit exams. Each year, this equates to around 52,500 sittings across 1,950 exams.
Until now, these activities have been managed using a legacy system, supported by a range of Access databases and spreadsheets. These systems have reached end-of-life and require significant manual intervention to maintain operations.
To address this, Oxford has embarked on a project to replace its current systems with a modern, robust, and integrated off-the-shelf solution that streamlines the entire end-to-end exam timetable process.
After a thorough evaluation, Optime Exam was selected to meet these objectives. The system will provide:
- A modern, intuitive interface to improve usability.
- Automated, secure data integrations to eliminate manual data handling.
- A scalable and adaptable platform capable of supporting the University’s complex timetable requirements.
The adoption of Optime Exam marks a significant step towards improving efficiency, accuracy, and visibility within Oxford’s examination scheduling process.
